"It looks like Utah out there!"

Maren exclaimed as she looked out the window at the falling snow.  This unexpected snow storm brought smiles and excitement to the children.  Their school day was shortened, allowing them plenty of time to enjoy the snow!

This white, heavenly scene brought back memories of last year.  On the night following Sarah's passing, Brian and I sat together in our family room and watched in amazement as a beautiful white blanket of snow covered the ground.  While we viewed this peaceful sight, we found some measure of comfort taking about Sarah, her life, what she has taught us and the promises God has made to those who trust Him.

oh, my goodness! Utah has sunshine while Houston has snow. There is something definitly amiss!
What fun for Nathan and Maren, but what does Rascal think? I think someone in heaven is having her way.

It is so fun to get a little taste of winter--especially when I know it will be brief! I'm glad your big kids got some extra time to enjoy it.

Could this possibly be a tender mercy from a little sister who is so loved and so missed? I think Heaven must allow all two year olds a wish at Christmas time. I love the 'bird's eye view' of Maren in your backyard. I hope your flowers survived. It has me humming "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas"!

What special and tender moments you are remembering right now. It is our task and gift to find comfort in those last moments we had. These next weeks are steeped in so many thoughts and feelings, of love and of loss. I am so truly touched by your words and I am thinking of you and your family.

I hope you frame that last one of Sarah's bench in the snow. Just beautiful.
