My mother taught me...

...by her example, that you can choose to be happy even during difficult circumstances.

She wore this head brace for five months while her neck healed from one of many surgeries related to rheumatoid arthritis.  While wearing this awkward, heavy contraption she continued to take care of her family, attend church meetings, and of course smile!

   SUPER MOM!

Amazing! I can't imagine wearing that for that long... bless her heart! Seth's mom also has rhumetoid arthritis (sp?) ... and was wheel chair bound at one point in her life from it, but is not now. What a lucky person you are to have such a wonderful example as a mother! And what a cute idea to post something about your mom every day this week! Love it.

You are the true example! I watched in amazement as you dealt with grace and fortitude the birth of a new baby amidst a devastating hurricane and the heart-wrenching news of the terminal illness of a beloved child. Your mother holds nothing one you!

Wow I would love to talk with you about that as my Grandmother suffered from RA. She must have been very similar to your mother because she did everything with a smile despite the constant pain she was in (being diagnosed in the 1950s meant very primitive treatments).
