Cardinals in Winter

These lovely feathered friends share my backyard.  Every year I count on them to bring color and life to the bleakness of winter.  It is difficult to photograph cardinals, they are sensitive to sound and movement and will quickly fly away if they see you.  Finally after several attempts I captured these images from my bedroom window.  They are such beautiful birds with vibrant red feathers.  I am glad they feel welcome and at home in our backyard.

Can you see two?

Thank you Kellie for enhancing this photograph so this beautiful cardinal can be seen.

Way to go for catching them on camera!
I love seeing little flashes of red out in the trees.

You are so lucky to live in a place which is inviting to this gorgeous red birds--they remind me of time spent in Connecticut.

I was a nanny in New York and fell in love with those birds there. I wish that we had them here in Utah, especially during the bleak winter days. I long for color about right now. I am longing for spring.

What a great place to see birds! I never saw a cardinal though. I am very impressed.
