November 30, 2008

This picture was taken one year ago today.  On this day, our family attended church together for the last time.  I remember taking Sarah into our meetings in her stroller while holding small baby Caroline in my arms.  Brian was busy attending to his church responsibilities.  The children and I sat together on a bench.  During the meeting I  had to leave the children for a few minutes to feed Caroline.  Soon after I left, Sarah was brought to me by a kind friend.  She sat next to me on my friend's lap while I cared for the baby.  Sarah asked if she could hold Caroline.  I sat her in a rocking chair and carefully placed Caroline in her arms.  A few other mothers were also busy feeding their babies.  Sarah then asked if she could hold their infants.  These sweet mothers, full of trust, placed their new babies one by one into the arms of Sarah.  It was a precious experience for all present. Oh, how Sarah loved babies!  This same day our family decorated the Christmas tree.  In this picture Sarah is holding a small pine cone ornament in her hand.  With a small baby sleeping on my shoulder and Sarah snuggled up peacefully in my arms, I knew it was a moment I would never forget.

It was a very precious experience...as I was one of those nursing mothers and I remember that day well. I felt blessed and honored to let sweet, little Sarah hold Dallin that day. I am sure the holiday season is bringing back a lot of tender memories. My heart goes out to you during this time. XO

I admire you going to church and handling your sweet family alone each Sunday while Brian attends to his responsiblities. It's no wonder Sarah liked to be surrounded by precious little babies because she is so like them: pure and angelic. Thanks for sharing that experience with us.

I think of you every day and all that happened a year ago. What a long year it has been. I love this photo, but especially the ones of Sarah as a shepherdess. That is just how I remember her, healthy and strong and so very sweet.

What an incredible moment to have written in your heart forever. Sarah was thankful for babies, too, a woman with a mother heart in her girl body.

I miss little Sarah. Lots of memories come to mind as I would help my mom in nursery or at the parties my mom threw for them. Thank you for sharing.
