Thankful for Toads

Nathan said the prayer last night at the dinner table. In his prayer, he gave thanks for the food and for "all animals, especially toads." Upon returning from Cub Scouts, Nathan found two toads on the sidewalk in front of our home. Soon a third toad appeared. Nathan recognized this blessing came because he thanked Heavenly Father for toads in his prayer. He was thrilled and couldn't stop giggling. Here are a few pictures of his toad friends having fun together on our front porch.

Oh, Nathan! There is something about you toads can't resist. They certainly add life to your mother's Halloween decorations! I think you should write a story about Timmy, Tammy and Torie, the friendliest Texas Toads!

Power in prayer. Nathan, Heavenly Father hears and answers your prayers and is thankful you would take time to bless even the smallest of His creatures. You're toads are "toad-ally" awesome. Have you received your letter from Maxwell?

My favorite picture: Pumpkin Toads. I tried doing the same thing with Zoey last night and she wanted nothing to do with it.

You have always been so good with animals, Nathan. I remember when we went to San Antonio together it would take us an extra 10 minutes to walk back from the pool so you could see every insect along the way. Your toads are very handsome. :-)

You have toads, we have grasshoppers. I think toads would be more exciting. Way to go Nathan!

I need to remember to call Nathan to come and get the weird bugs I find around my house.

We could have used his expertise to get a huge caterpillar out of my garden before he ate another pepper plant.

I am grateful for toads, too. Christine, your decorations look beautiful, as always.

And now I can see your front porch! You read my mind Christine. I was missing it. We love toads too . . . they really came out in the flood last week.

Children are so full of faith and able to recognize blessings immediately. What a sweetheart.
