Maren's room has taken on a fresh new look. She inherited the guest room bed and is very content in her charming yellow haven. We found the perfect bedspread in her favorite color and completed the look with a touch of pink. The decorations in her room have special significance to both of us. We have enjoyed working together on this project and are pleased with the end result. Here are a few pictures of her new room.
This heirloom was hand embroidered in the 1950's by Maren's grandmother, Renee. The sweet sentiment stitched on linen will hopefully influence the way she lives each day of her life.
A chair for reading and putting on shoes.
Maren stores her hair bows in a glass canister.
I created this picture using a butterfly punch and scrapbook paper. The idea came from this blog. There are a few special reminders of Sarah in the room.
My good friend Hillary hand painted dragonflies and butterflies to add a little grace and life to the yellow walls.
A place for everything, and everything in its place.
A little something I embroidered several years ago. I framed it when Maren was born and it has hung on her bedroom wall ever since.

What a beautiful room! Y'all did a great job with the decorating.
What a fortunate little girl to have such a beautiful room. I love how you incorporated the old with the new, warm colors with the cool to create a comfortable space for Maren to enjoy.
Just beautiful! It reminds me of Maren. It will be a peaceful sanctuary for her.
Her room is so grown up now. How fun to redecorate your room. Growing up I would move items around and add a new picture every year. To tell the truth. I do the same still. I like change!
Great room Maren!
How beautiful! I would have loved to have such a beautiful room when i was a girl. And i would still like such a room. I've heard that Plato said that the greatest education a child can have is to play among beautiful things. What a wonderful teacher and mother you are to your children.
