I am thankful for...

phone calls from loved ones.

This morning (around 10:00a.m.) Maren called from her school classroom asking if she could come home.  In her words, "We're not learning anything today and I want to begin celebrating Thanksgiving!"  A few minutes later I picked her up from school.  We enjoyed eating lunch together, a bowl of soup with crackers.  Later Maren made these pretty place setting cards for our Thanksgiving table.  I thought it was very sweet of her to make one for Sarah.

I love your Thanksgiving posts! A reminder to me of the many blessings that are mine. The video that Brian and Nathan made is a classic! Maren, what a thoughtful sister you are to remember and care for your angel sister, Sarah. We miss her terribly-especially at this time of the year.

How sweet that Maren was so honest with her request to come home, and how nice for her that she has a mother who is willing to oblige such a sweet request! I love the place cards - and agree with your mother, it is so thoughtful for Maren to remember her sister this way. I hope you can feel her spirit with you! Happy Thanksgiving!

I have been thinking about this story ever since you posted it. It is very touching. I am sure it was a day Maren will treasure for years to come.
