Reason to Rejoice

I think often of Mary sitting alone at the sepulchre, mourning the absence of her beloved friend.  Saturday, the day before Christ's resurrection must have been filled with sorrow, especially for those who walked with our Savior day after day and believed in His words.  Mary found some comfort sitting near the tomb.  I can't imagine her grief as she tried to emotionally accept the events of that week.  How her heart must have yearned to see Christ once more and to express her love to Him.
The unspeakable wonder and joy that rushed through her body as she recognized the Savior is beautifully portrayed in this video.

Easter weekend brings such hope and promise.  We will reunite with our loved ones who have gone before us.  Our bodies will be made perfect, free from disabilities and disease.  Because of the great sacrifice and resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we will have eternal life!

Maren decided to box up the ballet shoes and sign up for a season of soccer.  This girl can run!  She loves the game, cleats and co-ed team.  It's so fun to see my prim and proper girl tear it up on the field.

Sowing Seeds

This week in science the kids learned how to sow a seed.  They were taught the basics of cell division, and studied the different kinds of soil and planting methods used in gardens.  The assignment was given to plant a seed and help it grow.  We enjoyed selecting a variety of seeds to plant in our backyard garden box.  Hopefully with water, sun, and care, these seeds will produce beautiful Spring and Summer blooms.

Our family was blessed with a sweet day of remembrance.  We released balloons and enjoyed a delicious "princess" bundt cake.  Love from friends and family filled our hearts as we celebrated the life of our dear little Sarah.   

My dear friend, Brenda, beautified Sarah's bench by adding new mulch and pink flowers that will bloom in the Spring.
