I have had several inquires regarding the progression of my pregnancy and upcoming arrival of sweet baby girl. I've experienced contractions over the past two weeks and weekly appointments have shown evidence that the end is very near. The swelling in my ankles and legs continue to cause discomfort. My swollen feet can only fit into one pair of non-supportive black flip-flops. The baby is growing and weighs approximately 7 pounds. The doctor has given me permission to head to the hospital when the contractions become stronger and more regular. I'm experiencing sudden bursts of energy which have helped me make it through each day and feel a sense of accomplishment as I satisfy the urge to reorganize every closet and space in the house.
This waiting game can be painful, especially during hours in the night when the cramping and contractions interrupt sleep. However, to begin each morning wondering if today is the day we will welcome precious little Charlotte is exciting! I often remind myself to embrace these final days. I will never again experience the pains associated with pregnancy which can be beautiful and sacred. I have another appointment with the doctor Tuesday morning. He will most likely schedule an induction date for this week or the next. We look forward to announcing the arrival of new baby!
I'm grateful to have made it through the final week of April. Yesterday Nathan and Maren performed so well at their year-end piano recital. Today we celebrate Brian's birthday! And just for the record, here is photo of my almost nine-months pregnant self.
